Born in Great Britain, Tim moved to the United States in his 20s. Here, he met his wife, started a family, and developed his career in technical publications in New England. In 2000, Tim's comfortable life changed, however, when he awoke one morning with a numbing, painful sensation in his legs. He immediately drove to the emergency room and was given an MRI and spinal tap. Initially, Tim was diagnosed with transverse myelitis. But in 2005, after experiencing a second exacerbation, he was diagnosed with relapsing Multiple Sclerosis.

Tim immediately went on treatment, and though he wishes he could have received a positive diagnosis and started on treatment sooner, his journey with MS has left him with an optimistic perspective. He encourages others living with MS to never give up. In his spare time, Tim enjoys Tae Kwon Do. He relishes quality time with his wife and son and is grateful to them for their constant support.
