I go to regular checkups with my neurologist every six months. I do all of the right things, like take my calendar that I use to keep track of my symptoms and my list of questions for my doctor. I'm also fortunate to have another resource I can turn to for tips on living well with my relapsing MS: the MS LifeLines nurse in my area, Kelly.

Kelly is, in a word, awesome. When we talk it's casual and relaxed. Usually it's at community programs such as the MS LifeLines C.H.A.T. programs. That's what makes having a relationship with Kelly so special. Not only for me, but also for the other patients that come to these programs. No matter what, she takes the time to actively listen to my concerns. I like that I can talk with Kelly about what is stressing me out. Which is great since stress is not good for anybody. She especially understands that although relapsing MS is something that I live with everyday, it's not my whole life and not what defines me. I'd encourage you to check and see if there is a MS LifeLines nurse in your area too.
